Umm … I did not quite realize how far behind I had fallen in posting.
I have been battling a nasty sinus infection for the past few days so I’ve been out of commission, but I’ll do sort of a recap if I can here.
So the most common theme that’s been recurring these past few days is the idea that my first response to things is no. So 2018 will be the year of saying yes. Because what I’m ultimately finding is that whatever it is I’m saying no to out of the gate is really not so bad after all.
Example: My wife wanted to have her parents over for dinner last night and I wasn’t feeling up to having company, but I know she need not be punished socially and suffer because I am an introvert. And her family is big. So even though they drive her nuts, she’s used to having them around. I have to give her something. Fair is fair.
And lo and behold, wouldn’t you know it? We had fun. Dinner was great because she made me comfort foods because she knows I wasn’t feeling well. And then we played a few rounds of Rummykub, which was fun.
So saying yes more often is a good thing.
And speaking of goals, I created a spreadsheet of my 2018 goals. I even broke them down into 8 categories:
- Family & Friends
- Fun & Recreation
- Romance & Love
- Personal/Spiritual Growth
- Physical Environment
I know, I know. It’s an ambitious list. Especially since I have goals and action plans for each. Oy vey! Go big or go home, right?!
I’ve never sat down and really mapped out my year before so I’m both nervous and excited.
It’s time and I’m long overdue for making some really big magic happen in my life.
So bring it 2018. I’m feeling ready for whatever it is you have in store for me.
And so long 2017. It was okay. But I know I can do wayyyy better.
Let’s do this!
